# API Key
Source: https://docs.spellborne.gg/api-reference/api-key
How to create and manage your API keys
Developers need an API key to access authenticated endpoints. You can have up to **5 active keys**.
## Creating a Key
Access the settings menu and navigate to the "Developer" subsection
Click the button to create a new API key
Assign a name to the key
Copy the generated key immediately
Make sure to copy the API key once it has been created — the key will only be available until that popup is open.
## Usage
Include the key in the `x-api-token` header:
```bash theme={null}
curl -H "x-api-token: YOUR_API_KEY" https://api.spellborne.gg/api/data/users/0x123
```
## Access Tiers
* **Standard** — Baseline rate limits (100 requests / 5 minutes)
* **Stellar Pass** — Higher rate limits
* **Developer Access** — Contact the team for specialized endpoints with reduced traffic

A minor update focusing on battle system improvements, performance improvements, and testing of multiple core features.
## New Updates
* **PvP Leagues:** The leagues system has seen a few major improvements covering the battle system and the reward structure.
*Randoms League:*
Players get access to pre-defined squads of monsters based on the most used squads in PvP Leagues till current date. This allows new players to get a jist of how PvP Leagues work, what monsters are according to their play-style and more, without having to grind towards creating random squads and testing them out.
*Elo Updates:*
Starting PvP Leagues Era 4, the ELO earned from bot battles is based on the current league of the player, instead of the default value of 2.
Bronze: 16
Silver: 12
Gold: 8
Platinum: 4
Diamond: 2
Conqueror: 1
* \*\*Battle System: \*\*The battle system has seen a user interface update that focuses on restructuring the interface to better support multi-monster battles, including co-op, raids and monster hordes.
While this interface update is not final, it is a step towards adding support for the upcoming features mentioned above.

# Changelog 1.2.13
Source: https://docs.spellborne.gg/changelog/changelog-1020601
A minor update focusing on game economy changes, crafting, skills, and more.
A minor update focusing on game economy changes, crafting, skills, and more.
## New Updates
* **Max Skill Level**: The maximum skill level for each skill has been changed from 10 to 20. The formula for how much experience is needed to reach the next level has also been adjusted, to have a more gentle increase in the experience requirements for the first few levels, but then rapidly increasing after around level 15 to give more long term progression goals.
Things that unlocked at given skill levels, such as seedpacks and crafting recipes, have had their level requirements adjusted to have a more even distribution of unlocks across the available level range.
* **Crafting**: Crafting now works in a more vertical way, where higher tier items use lower tier items as part of their ingredients.
This change is intended to allow the crafting system to consume more items from circulation within the economy, and to create a stable demand for items across the different tiers of items. Fundamentally it is about concentrating many weaker items down into fewer more powerful ones.
New crafting recipes added for Health packs, Stamina packs, Combo packs, Revives, Anklets, Crystals, and Prismatic Dust.
Updated crafting recipes for Puddings.
* **Farming**: Farming now has a passive bonus that scales in strength with your farming skill level, allowing levels that don't unlock a new plant type to give some kind of benefit.
This bonus gives you a small chance to harvest a Mystic Root when harvesting any crop. The chances factor in the amount of time to harvest the crop being grown, to keep different crop types balanced in terms of their chance of giving a Mystic Root per hour spent growing (in the same way as how farming EXP is calculated).
* **Mining**: Mining has a passive bonus that scales in strength with your mining skill level. Previously this gave you a chance to get a bonus fertilizer mineral (azotite, phosphorite, potash). Now this gives you a chance to get a bonus Prismatic Dust instead.
Azotite, phosphorite, potash (one at random) are now a guaranteed drop from all ore rocks, in addition to whatever gem is given from winning.
Ore rocks that spawn now each have a difficulty tier. The tier determines the gameplay speed of the mining minigame, as well as the rewards given.
Players start off with only the blue gem tier of rocks available. Rock tiers for purple and red gems unlock as your mining level increases, at level 5 and level 10 respectively.
Gems are now guaranteed to be received as a reward from successfully mining a rock. Previously you only had a 50% chance to get a gem even if succesful. This is now 100%. Crystal crafting recipes have had the amount of gems needed in their ingredients increased from 1 to 2 to compensate for this.
* **Training**: All crop items providing health and stamina bonuses are now limited to +5.
* **Fishing (Coming later this week)**: Players can start fishing by going up to any fishing spot they find along the edge of bodies of water around the overworld, and use their rod tool from the radial selector. This will open the fishing minigame UI where they can select a bait (for different effects) and start playing.
The objective is to keep the hook on the fish as it moves up and down the water, until the catching progress bar on the side is full.
Each fish caught gives fishing skill experience. New more challenging fish types unlock as your fishing level increases.
Fish can no longer be found in trash bins.
Fishing has a passive bonus that scales in strength with your fishing skill level, allowing levels that don't unlock a new fish type to give some kind of benefit.
This bonus gives you a small chance to receive an Amber when successfully catching any fish.
* **New Items added:**
Prismatic Dust: This is a new rare tier of crafting ingredient that can be obtained randomly by mining ores (in addition to the actual gem itself). Can also be used as a fertilizer in farming, to boost the chance of also harvesting a Mystic Root. Prismatic Dust can also be obtained by being crafted from a Prismatic Crystal.
Mystic Root: This is a new rare tier of crafting ingredient that can be obtained randomly by harvesting plants (in addition to the actual crop itself). The odds of getting a Mystic Root can be massively boosted by using Prismatic Dust on a farm tile prior to harvesting, which acts as a new kind of fertilizer.
Amber: Amber is now available in game, which is a high-tier crafting ingredient (used in crafting Prismatic Crystals and Anklets).
* **Summer Season**: Summer season is here, bringing back some loved monsters such as Ignipuff, Hachibee and Leyang.
## Known Bugs
* Certain monster abilities might not work correctly.
* Certain monster breeds might not be available as followers.
## Coming Next
* PvP Rewards Rework is currently in development, should go live soon.

## Notes
### Season 1 Ends Soon!
The first season of Spellborne ends this November. Players will receive an in-game notification regarding the exact date one week in advance.
The user points collected during Season 1 will undergo a system verification to remove all bots and cheaters, thus players may see changes in their rankings. The points will then be converted to a rank based token distribution during the token generation event.
Further, the total airdrop for Season 1 has been extended to 12% which covers F2P players, Apartment and Monster NFT Holders.
### Future Seasons
Starting with the second season, the gameplay points distribution will rely on PvP leagues Eras.
An era is a fixed duration of 2 months for PvP leagues, at the end of which a snapshot is taken, player ELOs are reset and those points get added to the seasonal airdrop.
Thus, players get a concrete idea of timeline as well as their airdrop distribution is not over-claimed by players coming in at a later stage.
### Moving On-chain
The game will move to fully on-chain gameplay and data management with multiple feature releases.

### Season 1 ends this week!
The first season of Spellborne is coming to a close, with a snapshot of the points system taken on 16th November 2024. After this snapshot, all points will undergo system verification to filter out bots or accounts attempting to exploit the system. Once verified, the final points will be displayed on the in-game dashboard later this month.
**Rewards for the Wheel of Fortune** event will be distributed in the first week of December 2024, following a thorough verification of user accounts to ensure fair play and compliance with referral guidelines.
During this process, players are invited to dive into **Season 2**—launching later this month after the PvP Leagues Test Phase concludes. Season 2 will bring a more competitive edge, offering increased in-game rewards and a token airdrop from the community token pool.
**To recap:**
* **A total 12% of the BORNE token supply has been allocated towards a mix of Apartment NFT Holders, Monster NFT Holders, and Season 1 players.**
* **This 12% supply is a part of a total 50% of BORNE token supply that has been allocated towards Season 1 and future seasons combined.**
**The allocation among Season 1 players will be heavily rank-based, prioritizing the top 5,000 players to ensure they receive a minimum airdrop. An additional portion of the airdrop will be raffled among the remaining players, giving everyone a chance to participate in the rewards distribution.**
**The airdrop will be distributed among players at the BORNE token generation event during Season 2.**
**More details regarding allocations will be shared later this week via our socials.**
*No snapshot has yet been taken for NFT holders or Players.*
### PvP leagues are coming!
The **PvP Leagues Era System** will kick off with a **Test Phase starting on November 16, 2024**, running for one week. During this testing phase, player ELO will not contribute to Season 2 points. However, participants have the chance to earn an exclusive **Double Innate Woodot** as a reward for joining in!
*Hint: Double innate Woodot refers to a Woodot with 2 innate stats of your choice scoring more than 50/63 and gender of your choice.*
If everything in the test phase goes well, then Season 2 will begin on a tentative date of 23rd November 2024 (Subject to change, based on Test Phase performance).

The first powerup is accessible via "Eye of Athena" item, allows players to view innate stats of wild monsters for 5 minutes when active.

# Design Pillars
Source: https://docs.spellborne.gg/design-pillars
The five core philosophies behind Spellborne
Spellborne operates on five core design philosophies that emphasize accessibility, meaningful gameplay, and player agency.
## Each Adventure is Unique
Player decisions genuinely influence story outcomes, monster encounters, and available paths. Rather than delivering identical experiences despite choice illusions, the game functions as a living tree where all players begin identically but diverge based on their selections regarding morality, character personalities, and consequences.
## Simple, Not Simplistic
The game targets both younger players (age 12+) and adult spenders. While appearing straightforward initially, it conceals intricate systems rewarding mastery. Complexity emerges through attributes, strategic options, and mechanical depth rather than monster typology alone, allowing competitive engagement with meaningful nuances.
## Meaningful Relationships
Monsters serve as companions requiring nurturing rather than expendable resources. Players develop bonds through battles, gift-giving, and care. The design encourages community interaction via trading, clan participation, and social spaces, positioning relationships as progression drivers.
## Decentralized Control
Empowerment prioritizes player agency over blockchain implementation. Player-driven markets establish value through natural supply-demand dynamics. The emphasis remains on broad accessibility across devices and regions, with development incorporating player participation through forums and feedback mechanisms.
## Reliving Nostalgia
The design honors classic RPG sensibilities for contemporary audiences through dialogue references, item homages, and location tributes while intensifying stakes through meaningful choices and player interactions, recapturing wonder and responsibility from gaming's earlier eras.
# Glory System
Source: https://docs.spellborne.gg/economy/glory-system
Apartments, staking, and exclusive rewards
The Glory System integrates apartments as stakeable NFTs, enabling players to earn Glory Points through engagement and investment.
## Apartments
* **Max Supply:** 3,333
* Available in Small, Medium, Large, and Penthouses
* Player-owned NFTs serving as social hubs and utility assets
* Support for cosmetic upgrades and customization
## Staking
Players generate Glory Points by staking apartment NFTs over time. The earning structure considers staking duration and seasonal multipliers. Players can also stake BORNE tokens to earn Glory Points.
## Glory Points
Glory Points are a non-tradable currency dedicated to progression and cosmetics, distinguishing them from standard tradeable assets.
## Rewards
Glory Points can be redeemed for:
* **Seasonal Items** — Limited edition items and rare event gear
* **Visual Enhancements** — Skins and furniture
* **Consumables** — Special-use items providing gameplay advantages
# Guilds
Source: https://docs.spellborne.gg/economy/guilds
Economic and strategic entities with governance and warfare
Guilds function as economic and strategic entities with governance systems, revenue models, and competitive warfare mechanics centered on Guild Tokens.
## Guild Tokens
Tokens are minted using \$BORNE, creating demand for the game's primary asset. Each guild determines its own initial token supply and distribution. Guild members, allies, and external parties can acquire tokens.
### Token Utility
External players purchase tokens to speculate on guild performance in wars and seasonal events. Values fluctuate based on victories and treasury growth.
Token holders vote on marketplace fee structures, treasury spending, war tactics, and alliance formation.
Tokens can be staked to generate returns linked to guild performance. Revenue streams are redistributed to holders.
## Guild Wars
Guild Wars are seasonal competitions where groups battle for control, prestige, and economic dominance.
**Rewards:**
* \$BORNE payments directed to guild treasuries
* Heightened token demand through increased speculative value
**Participant Roles:**
* Guild members engage directly in battles and resource gathering
* Speculators support guilds through token purchases, wagering on outcomes
# Marketplaces
Source: https://docs.spellborne.gg/economy/marketplaces
The heartbeat of Spellborne's player economy
Marketplaces are the **heartbeat of Spellborne's player economy**, enabling free trade of monsters, items, skins, and resources.
## Open Market Trading
| Category | Description |
| ----------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Monsters** | Capture, mint, and trade monsters as NFTs. Each monster is unique, with stats, personalities, and trust levels that affect value. |
| **Items & Consumables** | Healing items, crafting materials, and farming crops can be freely exchanged. |
| **Cosmetics & Skins** | Player-driven markets include visual customizations, often seasonal or limited-edition. |
| **Tools & Resources** | Crafting tools, ores, and fish can be bought or sold, giving gatherers and crafters ways to specialize. |
## Kanta Trader & Guild Markets
Kanta the Trader operates on multiple battle routes, offering guild-controlled market hubs.
* Guilds compete through bidding to operate these marketplaces
* Guilds can set discounts, limited-time bundles, or exclusive drops and sell cosmetic items
### Fee Structure
| Market Type | System Fee | Guild Revenue |
| ------------- | ---------- | ------------- |
| Main Markets | 5% | — |
| Guild Markets | 3% | Set by guild |
# Monsters
Source: https://docs.spellborne.gg/economy/monsters
The foundational asset of Spellborne's economy
Monsters are central to the Spellborne economy, obtainable through catching in the wild using crystals or collecting from events like Soul Exchange and Treasures of Celestia.
## Why Players Trade
* Breeding superior specimens
* Competing in PvP battles
* Completing collections
* Mastering different breed types
## NFT Minting
In order to trade monsters, a monster needs to be minted into a non-fungible token. This verification process enables marketplace transactions both within and outside the game.
## Minting Fee Controls
The system implements variable fees (ranging from $1 to $200 USD minimum) to prevent marketplace flooding and bot activity. Fees depend on:
| Factor | Effect |
| ----------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Account Age** | Established accounts receive lower fees; newer accounts face higher costs |
| **Breed Supply** | Popular breeds cost more to mint; rare breeds cost less |
| **Account Mints** | Rapid minting attempts trigger increased fees |
Additional undisclosed factors also influence pricing.
Players can mint on preferred blockchains, but directly transferring NFTs to unsupported wallets may result in them being displaced. Use the in-game marketplace for cross-chain transfers.
# Economy
Source: https://docs.spellborne.gg/economy/overview
A living, player-driven ecosystem
The Spellborne economy operates as a living, player-driven ecosystem focused on monsters, resources, guilds, and tokens. Every system feeds into another, generating continuous demand and meaningful progression.
## Foundation
* **Monsters** serve as the foundational asset — they can be captured, bred, traded, and converted to NFTs
* **BORNE token** functions as the economic backbone, earned through gameplay and spent across various systems
* Player actions directly influence scarcity and value distribution
## BORNE Token Distribution
| Allocation | Share | Vesting |
| ------------------ | ----- | ------------------------------- |
| Airdrop | 12.5% | Fully unlocked |
| Gameplay Fund | 37.5% | 10% at launch, 36-month vesting |
| Development | 15% | 36-month vesting |
| Ecosystem | 5% | 48-month vesting |
| Investors/Advisors | 30% | Cliff + 18-month vesting |
Actual TGE unlocks may be lower due to players already spending over 2.7% of supply in-game.
## Revenue & Gameplay Fund
The Gameplay Fund replenishes through chest speedups, marketplace fees, and minting fees, then funds PvP rewards, guild events, tournaments, and liquidity incentives.
## Earning BORNE
* Monster and item trading
* Seasonal leaderboard competitions
* Guild warfare and territory control
* PvP league participation
## BORNE Utility
* NFT minting and monster trading
* Stellar Pass and progression purchases
* Marketplace transactions
* System speed-ups

Competitive rewards through the Mythril system
Mythril is a reward pool funded by PvP Chest speed-ups, incentivizing competitive play through token and cosmetic prizes.
## Pool Accumulation
When players expedite PvP Chests using BORNE tokens, 90% of the BORNE spent is added to the Mythril pool.
## Winning Mechanics
Daily winners receive up to **1,500 BORNE** from the accumulated pool. Win probability depends on:
* BORNE spent on individual chest speed-ups
* Player Reputation (currently in development)
The maximum probability cap is **5%**, achieved at 144 BORNE expenditure per speed-up.
## Rewards
| Reward | Details |
| ---------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ |

# Battles
Source: https://docs.spellborne.gg/gameplay/battles
Turn-based combat at the heart of Spellborne
Battles are the **heart of Spellborne**, merging strategic decision-making with monster growth and player choice.
## Overview
Turn-based combat where participants select from attacks, items, or switches each round. Success hinges on tactical planning and comprehending opponent strategies. Players may capture wild creatures mid-engagement to expand their roster.
## Core Actions
| Action | Description |
| ----------- | ------------------------------------------ |
| **Attack** | Deploy learned monster abilities |
| **Item** | Use consumables for healing or stat boosts |
| **Switch** | Exchange active monsters within your team |
| **Capture** | Employ crystals to trap wild monsters |
## Stats
Monster performance depends on seven core stats:
* **HP** — Health Points
* **Stamina** — Ability usage resource
* **Attack** — Physical damage output
* **Defense** — Physical damage reduction
* **Special Attack** — Special damage output
* **Special Defense** — Special damage reduction
* **Speed** — Turn order priority
High-trust monsters perform better and respond dependably, while distrustful creatures may underperform or act unpredictably.
## Battle Types
* **PvE** — Combat against environmental enemies and scripted opponents
* **PvP** — Player-versus-player confrontations testing team building and statistical mastery
* **Boss Encounters** — Larger, narrative-driven fights demanding preparation and resource management
# Breeding
Source: https://docs.spellborne.gg/gameplay/breeding
Long-term progression through generational monster advancement
Breeding is a **long-term progression system** that rewards investment, strategy, and experimentation, enriching the monster ecosystem with generational depth.
## How It Works
Players combine two compatible monsters to create eggs that hatch into offspring carrying inherited traits from their parents. The system balances predictable inheritance with random variation, ensuring each monster develops uniquely.
## Requirements
* Two monsters that are compatible based on species, traits, or egg groups
* Access to a breeding facility like a Daycare
* Supporting resources including crops or manufactured items
## Inheritance
Offspring acquire traits from their parents:
* A portion of parental base statistics (HP, Attack, Defense, etc.)
* Certain abilities and traits
* Possible hidden mutations creating rare variants
* Behavioral characteristics like preferences and trust development patterns
## Egg Development
Eggs progress through an incubation period, typically requiring approximately three hours before hatching into hatchlings.
# Farming & Crafting
Source: https://docs.spellborne.gg/gameplay/farming-and-crafting
Grow crops, craft items, and fuel the economy
## Farming
Farming is central to resource generation, enabling players to grow crops for monster food, crafting ingredients, or marketplace trading.
* Unlocked early via Heiwa Village
* Plots support different seasonal crops and multi-season harvests
* Crops respond to economic supply and demand dynamics
### Growth Mechanics
* Crops operate on specific growth cycles with harvest windows (approximately 18 hours)
* Unharvested crops wither but convert to compost for other uses
* Different monsters have crop preferences that boost trust when satisfied
Farming directly influences monster happiness, battle performance, and player economic participation through seasonal engagement.
## Crafting
Crafting transforms raw materials into consumables and tools that enhance monster capabilities and enable player progression.
### How It Works
* Recipes acquired through gameplay progression, quests, or NPC interactions
* Combines crops, minerals, and monster drops as ingredients
* Produces four item categories:
| Category | Effect |
| --------------------- | --------------------------------- |
| **Healing Potions** | Restore HP or stamina |
| **Stat Boosters** | Temporarily increase combat stats |
| **Capture Enhancers** | Improve capture success rates |
| **Utility Items** | Various gameplay aids |
Crafting is essential for battle survival, enables economic specialization through trading, and creates synergies across farming, mining, and fishing systems.
# Mining & Fishing
Source: https://docs.spellborne.gg/gameplay/mining-and-fishing
Gather resources through exploration
## Mining
Mining yields ores, gems, and minerals essential for crafting crystals and fertilisers. Players discover mining nodes in caves, mountains, and other world locations using pickaxes to extract both common and rare materials valued for crafting and commerce.
## Fishing
Fishing is a calm, skill-based activity for harvesting aquatic resources and consumables, available at bodies of water throughout the game world.
### Key Mechanics
* Catches range from standard fish to uncommon aquatic creatures, with unsuccessful attempts yielding unwanted items
* Features a mini-game based on timing and precision — simple to start, with room for mastery
* Species availability depends on time of day and weather conditions
Both systems support Spellborne's crafting economy and monster care systems while encouraging player exploration and interaction across different regions.
